Car Vacuum

At first glance, a car vacuum and a handheld vacuum might seem like the same thing. They do have a lot of significant features in common, such as, being small, portable, handheld, and cordless. They also have a few distinct features as well.

The main difference is that a vacuum made for a car will usually come with a wide variety of attachments. These attachments will allow you clean the different types of surfaces found in your car as well as being able to clean in the many hard to reach areas of your car (like under the seats).

Another difference is that a lot of vacuums made for cars will not be battery powered, but will have a cord that can plug into your car or a typical electrical outlet. There are a lot of battery powered vacuums for cars though.

Cleaning your car peridocally will help in many ways. It will keep the interior of the car in better condition for a longer period of time. It will also keep your car smelling better (especially if you eat in your car occasionally), and it will create a more enjoyable environment as you run your errands or commute to and from work each day.

A car vacuum should only be used in your car, or other places where a normal vacuum cannot do a better job. There are limitations to these types of vacuums and we have a small list just below.

Disadvantages

  • They have less suction and cleaning power
  • They need to be charged
  • They need to be emptied more frequently

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Car Vac
Hoover S2220 Flair Bagless Upright Stick Vacuum with Power Nozzle - I was given this car vac for Xmas last year and it is still running strong.

It does a pretty respectable job in the car as long as it is dry, also the extra long plug for the lighter comes in handy and even reaches the trunk for cleaningit also has 2 tools it comes with. 5 stars!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful Little Vac
Metro Vacuum VM4BS500 Professional Stainless Steel 120V, 500-Watt High Performance Hand Vac - This tiny hand held vac has more power than some shop vacs. It's all I had hoped for and is very well made of stainless steel. For cleaning the car or a quick pickup around the house ... 500 watt Vac n Go can do it. You can order a 3'flex hose attachment, seperately, and 5 packs of filters. Should be, but not carried by Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST Auto Vacuum
Black & Decker PAV1200W 12-Volt Cyclonic-Action Automotive Pivoting-Nose Handheld Vacuum Cleaner - This thing is perfect! The things I looked for when shopping for my first auto vac were:1) Length of cord - plenty of legnth. DON'T EVER GO FOR A WIRELESS AUTO VAC! The suction power dies, and eventually, you'll have 5 minutes of good suction per charge. The cord for this vac is too long - and that's a good thing. Of course you'll need a cigarette lighter input, which all cars should have. I am able to reach the back of my Scion tC with ease and extra cord available. And if you know anything about tC's, they are small cars so you big car owners should have no problem at all.2) Suction power - Since this is a wired-type, there's no need to worry about loss of suction power. With 12V, this thing will clean up your car pretty nicely. For those stubborn pieces of dirt, hair, cloth, etc. that stick to your car fabric, the brush attachment does wonders.3) Attachments - It comes with three attachments - a brush attachment, a rectangle-to-circle attachment to attach the brush, and a tube attachment to reach those hard-to-reach spots. This vac comes with a pivoting action end which is, in my opinion, genius. It really helps to access under the seats and under the side-ends of the back seats.4) Convenience - It's lightweight, and comes with a bag, so you can carry it around for travel. All in all, this is the best auto vac solution. Don't worry about the price - this thing is worth every penny.
